Visit Us
Madresfield Court, situated within the Madresfield Estate at the foot of the Malvern Hills, is a moated stately home which has been in the Lygon family for nearly 900 years and is currently home to its 29th generation.
The house is an architectural masterpiece and played a significant part in nurturing the Arts and Crafts movement, and therefore contains a fine collection of paintings, furniture and ceramics.
Whilst Madresfield Court remains first and foremost a private family home, the house and grounds are open to welcome visitors at various times throughout the year.
When open to the public tours, access to the house and gardens is by guided tour only. These operate from April to June and must be booked online, in advance. Ticket pricing, dates, booking and visitor information will be made available in advance of the new tour season 2025.
The Madresfield Estate also hosts several popular events throughout the year within the grounds of the Court – see ‘Events’.
Court Tours
When running, tours of the Court allow you to see a large part of the house and are enjoyed equally by both expert and enthusiastic amateur alike.
Tours are accompanied by two knowledgeable guides, each tour of the Court takes approximately one and a half hours.
Following a visit to the Court, we recommend a self-guided tour of the beautiful gardens.
Approximately 10 main rooms are open to visit during the house tour including the Staircase Hall, Dining Room, Library and Chapel.
Unfortunately, due the restrictions of a listed building, the upstairs Galleries and Chapel may not be accessible to those with restricted mobility.

The tour includes the striking, formal gardens surrounding the Court which offers far-reaching views across the Estate’s farmland, walking the majestic, tree-lined avenues and a visit to the rare Pulhamite rock garden.
